Service Options Designed
For Teens….By Teens
Choose the Option that Works for YOU!
TeensGive volunteers are high school students who want to use their skills to give back. So, what better way than through helping younger children learn? We offer three options to our members:
- In-person tutoring at our network of after-school programs
- Virtual volunteering: tutor children from Title 1 schools online on our platform
- Teach our entrepreneurship curriculum, Counting Cupcakes, which teaches math and business skills in a fun and delicious way!
Create Connections: Where Skills Meet Service.
Through skills-based matching, TeensGive connects high school students with community service opportunities that match their hobbies and skills. This helps volunteers make real connections, gain leadership experience, and have fun with friends – all while completing their service hours. We look for opportunities where our volunteers can collaborate and connect with community members on a personal level.
We know a volunteer’s time is valuable. It’s our goal to make sure every service hour counts.
Virtual Volunteering: Too young to Drive? No Problem.
In an on-demand, digital age, where your next ride is available via the tap of your finger, why should volunteerism be restricted by city lines? Virtual volunteering can solve distance dilemmas. With online sessions, high school volunteers can connect with children attending Title 1 schools across the country.
Our volunteers can host free one-on-one virtual tutoring sessions to help kids with homework or improve their reading, writing, and math skills. Our platform offers curriculum tools and a virtual whiteboard. All lessons are recorded to ensure quality.
Counting Cupcakes: Teaching Entrepreneurship and Life Skills
Our members can choose to teach our curriculum, Counting Cupcakes, which combines the fun of baking with the fundamentals of entrepreneurship. During the class, the children build a real bakery while learning business math (calculating costs and profits), marketing, (using graphic design to create a logo and flyers) and social responsibility (the proceeds are donated to the charity they choose).
